Brentwood School offers several programs to round out your child’s education and care. We believe school should offer a wide variety of experiences to develop well-rounded people, so we have built Specialist classes into your child’s school day. We also know that families need care beyond the typical school hours, so we have developed fun, enriching programs outside the typical school day. Specialist Classes

Preschool to Fifth Grade
Through dance, choral singing, and simple instruments our music class weaves holidays, cultural events, seasons, and history together in lively and engaging ways.

Preschool to Fifth Grade
Elementary exposure to a foreign language trains the ear and promotes the student's comfort level so more serious study will come naturally later.

Preschool to Fifth Grade
Through organized games and activities, physical education addresses strength, coordination, pride, confidence, and sportsmanship.

Pre-Kindergarten to Fifth Grade
Each class contains a substantial, rotating library, but our main library offers a large book selection and special place for story readings and activities.

Kindergarten to Fifth Grade
Students visit our iMac lab in groups of six for maximum personal attention to their studies. From practical skills like touch typing to creative endeavors like website development make this class a powerful part of our curriculum.

Kindergarten to Fifth Grade
Again, in groups of six, students visit our well-equipped science lab for hands-on science experiences. This special class compliments our regular in-class science program perfectly.

First to Fifth Grade
Our youngest students are awash in arts, crafts, and artistic decisions. Beginning in 1st grade we offer our formal Art program. Sophisticated techniques and fascinating art history make this a most popular class.
We are proud of our school, particularly our challenging, creative curriculum and our outstanding staff. Brentwood’s team of quality specialists tend to be less visible, but they are an integral part of your child's whole education experience.
Playgroup
Playgroup is our extended care program for Brentwood students. It is available for children age 3 through 5th grade. Children are supervised by Brentwood teachers in constructive play. Students may attend as early as 7:30 am and as late as 5:30 pm. There is an hourly charge, and we keep track of your use so you may pay monthly. You may use Playgroup regularly or spontaneously. There is a discounted rate for all-day-every-day use.
Explorer Classes
Explorer classes are a rotating menu of after-school activities for Brentwood Students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Brentwood typically offers 4 Explorer sessions per year, each session consisting of 6 weeks of class. Classes range from a half-hour to an hour in length, once a week during each Explorer Session. These classes are great fun and allow your children extra activities without all the travel hassle. Classes are taught by Brentwood staff or local experts and cover a wide variety of interests. Brentwood’s Summer Fun is simply the best all-around summer camp experience in Gainesville. We blend plenty of time to play with opportunities to experience structured activities related to art, music, sports, crafts, science, literature, swimming, and more! We maintain low ratios and professional staff throughout the summer. Summer Fun offers themed one-week sessions. Divided by ages, children enjoy bright, well-equipped classrooms and large, shaded playgrounds. Programming is available for children Pre-Kindergarten age (entering a four-year-old class and potty trained) to rising 6th graders. Many campers who have graduated out of our Summer Fun age-groups return as volunteers in future years. It’s so magical, campers don’t want to leave!
