The Curriculum

Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, form the core of our curriculum. Specialists in Art, Music, Physical Education, Computer Science, Spanish and Library Skills complete the learning experience.

Grade Two completes the early elementary years so we are careful to consolidate the skills necessary for later success. Reading and writing becomes more fluent, and the more challenging assignments lead to a more confident student identity. Socially, second graders begin that long process of expecting more out of having friends and being a friend. No school setting offers more caring, positive social guidance then Brentwood where kindness, respect and tolerance are daily by-words. In addition to the two classroom teachers, specialists teach Computer, Spanish, Music, Physical Education, Library Skills and Art.
