The Curriculum

Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, form the core of our curriculum. Specialists in Art, Music, Physical Education, Computer Science, Spanish and Library Skills complete the learning experience.

Grade One. Moving from centers to desks and chairs give first graders a grown up feeling and add to their sense of organization. Now we start the journey of honing the reading, writing, and math skills with daily, small group lessons. Children are more verbal and expand their confidence with more oral presentations and class discussions. This is a lively, fun loving year and, oh yes, we lose our front teeth. In addition to the two classroom teachers, specialists teach Computer, Spanish, Music, Physical Education, Library Skills and Art.
